It's just that 1st row Mezzanine or Terrace differs from venue to venue with respect to how close you are to the action. I'm sure you've experienced that.

When I lived in "lower America" (heehee) I used to like just being at a game because I used to go more often. Now that I'm half a world away I like to sit between the 35's and low. I now like to sit right behind the bench so we can be as close to the players as possible. That way, if I feel Shanle, for instance, is jacked up, I'll tell him myself.

Funny story: I was in the Georgia dome during the early '90's. Down from Camp Lejeune for a Saints game. I sat at the 45 right behind the Saints. It was the usual ball-busting game, no holds barred fight. We were down by a couple but still in the game and the defense was TIRED. They were all occupying bench seats with their heads in their hands like they were WOOPED. They must've been.

Well, I commenced to giving them a Marine Corps style ass-chewing, leaning over the rail. The entire defense stood and looked around like, "Is he f'ing serious!?" The basic point I was getting across was this damn game is not over and you are going to win it!

They did.

No. I don't do that at every game. But I should...

Alaska
wow, thats a great story. ive never heard of anyone getting to do that. the closest i can come to real interaction, is the time Tom Benson nearly ran me over in a golf cart.
