ESPN and COX Cable reach agreement-no charges

ESPN, Cox end feud, settle on fee arrangement No changes in ESPN programming for customers in N.O. Friday February 20, 2004 By Pierce W. Huff Staff writer After more than three months of posturing and jostling, ESPN and Cox Communications settled their cable -TV feud Thursday. The two renewed and extended a carriage agreement to continue to offer the 24-hour all-sports network and its sister networks to Cox's 6.6 million customers. The long-term agreement keeps ESPN and ESPN2 on expanded basic and ESPNEWS, ESPN Classic and ESPN HD on a digital tier, and the launch of ESPN Deportes, ESPN's 24-hour Spanish language network, in markets where Cox offers a Spanish-language tier.
