Worried....

After 30 years as a Saints fan, whenever EVERYONE picks the Saints to win, they lose. I can't COUNT the examples of this phenomenon.

A dominant four man rush has been the key to beating the Saints, and the Giants have the best d front getting to the QB.

Worried...

Your emotion is validated.

I won't say it happens every time, but with more frequency than I'm comfortable with.

I believe the GELATIN is set. We've got talent. And our talent knows how easily it all slips away after last year's playoff defeat.

They need to play 'lights out' from here on out.

Alaska

The O line managed to handle the Giants D line last time. I don't think confidence in the Saints would be misplaced here.

I don't know how the game will go but could you ask for a better scenario? Time off, game in the dome, Saints pretty healthy, etc.

NOLA54 11-27-2011 10:54 PM

I have just one word for everyone....SHUT UP!!!

If you don't bring it - your opposition will.

This is not the same O Line, this will be a HUGE test. But they are banged up in the secondary so Brees should be able to West Coast them with the 8 yard passes...If they put all four DE in, line up and blow 'em off the line with the Rookie following...

strato 11-27-2011 11:11 PM

Boley is out...and Bradshaw also...their D-Line has some talent....but if we can get a run game going we should do fine..the G-Men over pursue on D from what i have seen this year

Screens and attack the seam passing...On D ..blitz the crap out of Eli..

We've moved on. I'm the same. This isn't the same team.
With that said, this is the Saints, but the Saints we always wanted --- a competitive team.

I remember a time when being 7 and 3 and playing on Monday Night Football would be equal to winning the Superbowl for our organization.

I'm glad we're in the MIX every year. THANK YOU GOD!

Saints fans wandered for over forty years waiting for a winner...

You're right to give Thanks!:bng:

Like I have said before, I am as worried about this game as a great white shark is of being being bitten by a guppy!!

These aren't Bill Parcells Giants!!

Fine, Goody's gone and back in 2009 we had a busload of all-pro HOF tackles. Sure it's going to be a challenge but I think the team will be ready. You don't have to agree, of course.

Your not the only one!! Depends on what Saints team shows up tonite. I'm keeping my mouth shut on facebook LOL. The only saving grace I have in our favor is Giants are hurting with injuries. We are playing at home and this is November which we have a good history of doing well.

UK_WhoDat 11-28-2011 06:12 AM

Sure be excited about the game. And not just expect a win to always happen.

But at the same time, have some positive mojo in the back pocket and roar dem Saints on.

my gosh, I remember those times well, Halo.

I have a bunch of junk to do this morning, but I tell you what, Im gonna
paint up my truck windows, stick those flags on, put on my saints gear, and raise hell tonight, like its 1984, and its the first time we've been on
MNF in a long time.

I never want to take our success for granted.
Lets all enjoy this and have a big time tonight. And if you can hang out with a bunch of WhoDats, by all means, lets make a party of it.

GEAUX!

That dominant 4 man rush was no where to be found against Vince and the dream team a week ago. If Drew gets the same or similar protection, we will be in bidness....

...and the last time we played the Giants on Monday night, we ripped them a new one. They went on a 5 game losing streak after that pounding. But that was then; we need to do it again, NOW!
This would be a great place to start our post-season push:
Crisp, consistent execution on offesnse
Stout run stopping and fundamental play making on defense

Kryptonite 11-28-2011 12:31 PM

If only we had that awesome QB over there in San Diego, we would have no worries. Oh, my bad...he left didn't he?

Great points you made there. Our offense is becoming more consistent with less changes along the line. It's time to get crisp and move the ball.
On defense we just need to remember how we tackled last game.:bng:

I was sitting in Texas Stadium in my Saints gear that night. Longest ride home in my life.

freakin ken stabler.

ScottF 11-28-2011 05:12 PM

I checked--it was a Sunday night.
I was in the lobby of a Kent State dorm watching the game by myself. Classmates kept telling me the game was over.

PS: it was the same dorm where ex-Saint great Usama Young lived many years later

homerj07 11-28-2011 07:10 PM

Win the FUKKEN GAME!!!!!!!!!

note: ScottF and I are talking about a game vs. the Cowboys in '84, where we blew a 21 point lead.

Scott, you're right, and I remember it well. It was
a Sunday night, but it was a special Sunday night edition of "Monday Night Football," if that makes sense. Kinda like they used to do on Thurs. It was produced by MNF and ABC, and wouldve had Gifford and Cosell, (I never saw the telecast. ) But it was "Monday Night Football." I know that, because I remember the promos. So it probably started off with DAH DAH DAH DAH! (bom-bom, bom, bom!)

Also, "Dandy" Don Meredith was being honored with something--- I think into the Cowboys Ring of Honor, I'm not 100% sure of that. But I remember him riding around the field in a convertible. I also remember being surprised by how silver his hair had turned. I think he was doing the telecast, and went down the elevator before halftime.

Also, that night was a nationally televised debate between Reagan & Mondale, so they had to move the kickoff to 9pm! So when the Cowboys Rafael Septien drove a stake thru my heart with the game winning FG, it was about 1am.

I dont think we expected a win, or even a 21 point lead, but when a Cowboy CB slipped on an out-route from Richard Todd, Tyrone (Ty in the Sky) Young scored, we were just like, "Holy Wow!" A little crack in my memory says Tyrone dunked the ball over the goalpost, and got flagged.

A hearbreaking loss, and miserable ride home, but you know, I'm glad I went. Saw sights I'll never forget.

Bum chatting with Tom Landry before the game was exactly like you would picture it.

Also, Saints fans were about a 4th of the Stadium. I know one of the endzones was all US. This was back when our black fans wore those yellow t-shirts--remember how vidid that looked? It was outstanding, and the Cowboy fans were clearly offended by our invasion. Not to mention we were louder than the shocked home crowd. I remember walking thru the lot, and some kids looking at me like I was from Mars, astonished that the Saints had fans.

I also saw a salt and pepper haired guy named Leo, who they showed on tv often-- he had a giant fleur de lis flag, before everyone had giant flags. You've seen this guy before. He waived his flag at me, when I pulled into the lot. I guess he couldnt see my Saints gear, so when I flashed back my Saints pennant, his tailgate party erupted.

When Stabler came in, I told the Cowboy fan next to me, not to leave. Thats how ominious it was. If Richard Todd could have just not gotten hurt. I cant stop thinking that.

Oh well, we got our revenge when Morten hit that 51 yarder in the Dome in '88, and also the 28-0 "welcome to the league" for Troy Aikman in '89. And then a couple more little celebrations on Bourbon St, just 2 years ago. I hope all those black people who wore yellow t-shirts in 1984, and all the heartbroken WhoDats from that bad night-- were watching Super Bowl XLIV. All of us deserved the big party we got.
