Matchup of the Week
by SI's Peter King New Orleans at Atlanta, Sunday. The ballyhoo is over the throwin' cousins, Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick and New Orleans signal-caller Aaron Brooks, two among the vanguard of great young QBs in the NFL this year. Rightfully so; this game -- at a very raucous Georgia Dome -- will be won, logically, by the best of these two players. But unlike the earlier barnburner at the Superdome, won by the Falcons after Vick completed 67 percent of his passes and scrambled for 91 yards on 10 attempts, one very big player will be in the Saints' lineup: Dale Carter. Carter is one of the best cover guys in the league, and he's just returning to the Saints after serving an eight-game suspension (his third) for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. Because of his suspensions, Carter has now played nine of his teams' last 59 games, but he tells me, "It's like getting back on a bike. I feel good. I'm probably only about 60 percent in terms of my normal ability, but I'll get back to the top fast." He'll need to be there for the Saints to win a tough road game. |

falcons saints game of da week
I think most everyone that has a handle on the NFL this year agrees that the SAINTS-falcons rematch is the game to watch this week.
My only problem is that because I am heading over to Death Valley to watch the Tigers whoop Bama Saturday night, I may end up having to listen to at least past of the game on the radio on Sunday. Well, I may just have to stay over in B.R. a little longer to watch the whole game and just drive home in the dark. |
