Abdul-Quddus actually did his job: separated the ball from the receiver w/o H-to-H contact.
He still got flagged. I think we just have to plan on 1 or 2 of those a game. The penalty is worth our guys playing at a high level for the full 60 minutes. Lately, I've seen D-lineman flagged for hitting the QB 1/2 step after release. The pendulum has swung too far in the other direction. Soon we'll be seeing a SportsCenter highlight where the QB pump faked, caused the aggressor to pull-up, then makes a game changing completion because the defender was trying to avoid a flag. Team ought to pick up the tab, for fines associated with good aggresive football. Suh is on his own with that BS. |
