#2 seed question..
Say hypothetically we run out and don't lose another game. But Pittsburgh beats San Fransisco on Dec 19th. That puts us as a tie record wise for the #2 seed. What determines who gets the #2 seed and a first round bye in that instance?

Conference record, and they'd have a better one than we do.

Our losses will have been to NFC or Big 12 teams.
The 9ers losses will include two losses to AFC teams. The 9ers win that scenario. In order for the Saints to get ahead, the 9ers need to lose to Pit and lose or tie another game. |

The good news is that we will know within 2 weeks if we even have a shot. After Arizona, SanFran plays at Pitt, and Steelers will have had a mini-bye, Thur-Mon.
If they win both, then there is little chance we can move up, or, realistically, down. We can rest for the Carolina game, host one game, and then head to SF for the next round. |

@ Seattle is the only real NFC game they could lose and then Pittsburgh.
That would put them 12-4, but with only 2 NFC losses, so we would need to run the table and finish 13-3 |

the NFC part doesn't matter at this point- we need to win out and have them lose 2
Even if we were both 12-4 and 9-3 in conference, they would get the #2 based on common opponents (thanks TB, Rams). Bottom line, we lose all tiebreakers to them. We need to win 13 games and have them win 12 |

The odds right now: 14% that we sneak em'. I think we have a decent shot though, they have almost 0 experience on that team of having to fight that hard down the stretch. I could see them face planting.

They have two matchups against beast mode who is really playing well and Arizona is really playing tough so dont put it past them to drop a another besides Pitt!!!
