That is odd. I know he was released by the Lions, but it\'s not like they have a ton of receivers- they need to add more themselves. Hey, if they were looking for size at the position, they just found it.

He had been hurt, recovering from a torn Patellar tendon. If he\'s healthy, watch out!

Yeah, he\'s got the size to go and get the ball. Hope he has recovered, but I\'m a little skeptical, mainly because he was outright released by a team that has a need at that position. But I haven\'t forgotten that year that he put up Joe Horn type numbers (1300+ yards), it was the late 90\'s, cause I had him on my fantasy team

Yeah, but he did that ONCE. He\'s had 20 catches for 200 yards the last couple of years. Don\'t get me wrong, I\'m moderately happy about this move. I\'d still like to see someone else at WR as well, but this guy COULD blow up here. Might be our next Joe Horn.

I\'d be more than happy to eat my words.

But I don\'t see any blowing up, just a whole lot of blowing.

Another savvy free agency move brought to you by Haslett and Co. where, \"We excell at underachievement\". :casstet:

Uhhh, he is the 4th or 5th WR on our roster (behind horn, stallworth, pathon & maybe lewis), why would he need anything more than 20rec for 200yds? It\'s not like he was signed to be a starter...

Point is, you don\'t know what he was signed to be. Maybe he was signed to take Stallworth\'s place. Also, the guy saw fairly significant playing time in Detroit and still didn\'t have great stats, so my point in citing his stats was to stay grounded. I think the kid COULD be real good, but the fact is he\'s got less yards in the last three season than Stallworth has, and that kid can\'t stay on the field for more than a series without hurting himself.

What\'s the matter, WhoDat, I thought you enjoyed condescending questioning. :P

He should fit the need as long as he isn\'t needed too much...if that makes any sense. Saw this when reading the article about Deuce\'s \"altercation.\"
Taken from nola.com:

Crowell is expected to compete with Michael Lewis and Derrick Lewis for a reserve spot behind top-three wideouts Joe Horn, Donté Stallworth and Jerome Pathon.
