Whistlegate: Titans accuse Saints of cheating - blowing whistle from sidelines
 

"Veteran Titan's offensive linemen Jake Scott and Michael Roos said they thought a whistle was being blown from the Saints' bench area late in the game, particularly during the Titans' second-to-last offensive possession....

Scott said Dean McCondichie, who produces the team's television show, "Titans All Access," has evidence of the whistle-blowing.

"Dean's got it on tape," Scott said. "Somebody was blowing a whistle on the sideline. There is audio of it, so we'll let it go from there. The second to last drive I think."

Give me a break dudes. I still see the cash falling out the refs pockets...

Titans saying Saints cheated?
Hard to cheat when a td from Graham was called not a td after refs viewing it. That was a td.
I said in chat, hmmm, I wonder what color the refs picked out for their new cars?

Bingo! There were so many penalties against the Saints that almost lost us the game. Stop crying like ******* and take the loss like a big girl.

Right, that,s what I'd do, blow a whistle so my own defense stops when they hear it and gives the Titans a free pass... Just... wow... does anyone even think before posting a garbage story like this? To run this story was a bad decision, just as bad as going home with the one eyed hunchbacked fat girl at last call.. Harper saved a touchdown and got caught and drew a penalty=15yds. I'm glad he did it and I think we should play as dirty as they play. Just not as dirty as the Lions.

Harper had to stop him because "guess who" got burnt! Not above those kind of plays:) We weren't only playing against the Titans, but every official out there as well. It was a well deserved W and proved it doesn't matter how much you win by just as long as you go home with the win.

Well I for one still consider Harper a hero.

I crank the volume on the TV, and I actually think I heard this at a couple of points on TV during the game...but I heard it earlier in the game, not at the end...I thought I heard somebody whistling loudly in the stands. What I heard wasn't a ref's whistle, it was thinner and higher pitched -- it sounded like someone in the lower part of the stands was whistling really loud with their fingers in their mouth.... Was our Whistle Man there at the game? LOL.

I also clearly heard a woman's voice yell "IVORY!" on the TV, after one of those early Ivory runs. So if your stadium is so quiet on defense that you can hear a lone woman in the stands yelling support at visiting players in between plays, that is a problem with your fan base and not the other team....

No doubt in my mind refs were slanted, biased, or flat out paid off. This game was a joke! The refs totally took us out of rhythm, and most penalties were bogus. Goodell needs to seriously review!!!

The call on Sproles return was correct. #95 pretty much wrestled his guy to the ground.

Maybe so...i missed it on the replay,tho.

HOWEVER.

Jimmy Grahams TD WAS A TD!! When did the rule change? Catch ball in endzone...2 feet touch...roll outa bounds...keep possession of ball throughout roll on ground.......THAT = A TOUCHDOWN EVERY TIME!!!!

Harper did what he had to do to make the tackle, nobody else was man enough to make the hit, pat Robinson is either 10 yards off his receiver pre snap or 10 yards behind him after the catch, they are saying we cheated when we had two perfectly good TD's called back, titans = Vikings 2009

The fact that they would bring forth something so trivial and clearly non-evidential, only shows how seriously pitiful they really are that they can't even beat the Saints with help from the officials! Quite your pity party and accept the defeat!

If there were whistles coming from the bench, it would have been noticed by the side judge and the sideline crew. And, wouldn't it have affected both teams equally?

Schizophrenia is a bad disease. It's really bad when you get paranoid from the sounds you "hear." A PET scan and a prescription for Lithium should clear that right up for you.

I heard a whistle too, at the end of the game with their QB on his knees. Game Over

I'd have to agree--I think the real victory was with the officials, who seemed to have their pockets lined--even on the Jimmy Graham call, where his knee, and heel had definitely touched down, before his foot ever dropped a bit and the air kicked up a bit of chalk.

But Christ, that whole game, we were fighting against the officials. They played better against the Saints' than TN did.

Yep, seems like they missed the fact that a "heel" is part of a "foot," and when that heel hit, it was a touchdown. Anything after that, whatever chalk came up, was irrelevant.

I saw another strange call where they said "The IR system is down, so we'll have to accept the call on the field." I think it was the GB game.

Like I said, I got the distinct feeling the refs didn't want the Saints' to win, or were shaving points to buy some Christmas presents.

All the calls seemed to happen on big plays too, for massive yards, or scoring plays, which tends to make one, generally suspicious.

And while I do say "Hey, that spot is bad, or that wasn't much contact," from time to time, usually upon review I am amazed at how close they got the spot, or I'll say "Yep, that was holding," or "Uh huh, he interfered." So I'm not a guy who gets pissed every time someone calls a penalty on the Saints' as they get it right amazingly and repeatedly.

But this game, was to say the least, very fishy. Even the reviews, every one of them went TN's way. I'm not clear on what the rule is, but on that "pass" (it was called upon review) the arm wasn't moving at all, and to me it looked more like the hit caused the movement forward. Is that called a pass? I felt like that movement was involuntary, but maybe it is called a pass anyway. Even the guys calling the game seemed to think the officiating was suspect.

Well we had to do something, since the refs weren't doing their job right!

I hear whistles from the stands in just about every game...and I'm frikkin hard of hearing! I even ask my wife occasionally about whistles I hear that's NOT at the end of a play, and she'll tell me it's just someone in the stands. My point is, that it's not uncommon.

The refs didn't give them a favorable spot on the QB sneak, which could have been argued by the Titans. I don't think they were out for the Saints specifically, I think they just sucked all the way around.

I will throw a couple of bucks in the pot for this. Pissy whiny crap. YOu lost get over it. If CJ2K had more than 23 yards on 11 carrys - you probably win the game.

Lots of bad calls ON BOTH SIDES & lots of bad calls throughout the league.

The refs need to learn to let the players actually PLAY THE FRIPPEN GAME.

I do not know about the SProles TD but according to the rule all parts of both feet need to be in & Graham's toes were on the line - not a TD.

Or we could all send them thousands of toy kiddie whistles ... may be just as effective ... it'd be worth the 2 dollars it may cost us each ...
