Good Read thanks, but I don't think New Orleans is spoiled. I think the 1st Super Bowl will always mean more than the others. I do think the fans will pickup the support, but its never ever going to be like the 1st SB.

Playoffs three years in a row is a big deal, I think 2009 spoiled a lot of the fan base (not calling out anyone) so now the casual Saints fan wants Supwrbowl or bust and sometimes I get caught up in it as well but if you stop and think these last 6 years have made up for the 40 years of losing before it.

Casual is the key term Cajun83 - Those of us who have been fans for 20 or 30 years are enjoying all of this & thanking our lucky stars at the same time!!

Being a 3rd generation fan, this period of being a Saints fan has been ONE of the greatest experiences of my short life

The whole quote is that Jenkins says people are "spoiled" by success, and then he turns right around and says he thinks that's a good thing, for fans to have high expectations. I like it! Spoil me!

No. I don't see any "been there, saw that before" feelings here on these baords. Many of us live away. From you all who live in N.O and the area, and from family and friends I have there, I still hear of great excitement from them ..
I agree with pherein. The Saints 1st SB and a SB win and how they won, NFC Cham, and the great year was a first.
It was all of that.
Still, with this current coaching staff and team, they are still amazing and pushing forward in a very tight, competitive league.
There are many good teams. Any game is up for any team to win.
The Saints beat NY Giants on primetime in a super game and then the NY Giants turned around and made a huge, still unbelievable comeback on Dallas CB.
Of course, the Saints whooped Dallas Cowboys butts too, huh?
LOL, yeah, the Saints did that this year. Yep, Saints beat NY Giants and Dallas Cowboys. Put both teams to shame being that they are high profile teams.
The answer to your thread and that article is no. There are no jaded feelings from Saints fans because the Saints are in the playoffs AGAIN!!!!
I never posted this because it is something just too big and too early to even say, and I think many feel this way, but Saints in SB again...lets just keep the faith. Watch and support week for week.
Just don't say that yet. Don't jinx fate or anything. Wait.

You know, the magic that was the 2009 season will NEVER be recreated. We could win 100 Superbowls, but that first one was so special. I consider myself lucky to be here watching and enjoying that season.

Now, on being spoiled, I don't think I'm spoiled. I want our team to win every game. For the past 40 years I've wanted our team to win every game. The difference now is, now we have the ability to win every game where before we didn't. And since we have the ability, I expect our team to win every game. I don't think that's spoiled, I think that's being a fan.
