Wow...excuse me if I don\'t care that we signed a 5th string CB...

Brown played quite well in Nickel packages last season for a first year guy. I like him. Brown could turn into what Keyuo Craver was supposed to be.

Yeah well, basically every corner we have is nothing more than a nickel back. That\'s the problem.

Just for giggles let\'s say that we go ahead and sign a Winfield or a Plummer and then draft a Gamble.

We still haven\'t fixed our problems at corner.

We could basically keep any guy on the roster right now at nickelback, but we aren\'t even in shouting distance of a shut down guy. To fix this we need to spend some money. I\'d like to see us draft Strait out of Oklahoma, he\'s the most ready to play and we won\'t have to worry about Haslett \"developing him into a starter.\"

Winfield would fix our corner problems, he is a top 5-6 corner in the league. Plummer would help but he is more of a #2 guy.

If we draft a corner in round one, and pass up Vilma. I will be highly upset. None of the first round corners are that much better than the guys who will be going in round 2. It\'s not a weak draft for corners, but there are no stand outs and they are all basically on the same level.

Strait got tourched in the senior bowl and may not even be a top 5 corner in the draft. He is not ready to step in and start in the NFL. I would rather take my chances with Joey Thomas or Keith Smith in the 2nd round.

I can\'t stand the way you post, but most of the time, I agree with what you say. If we are going to draft a corner, I would rather it be one of the 2nd round picks, like a Smith or Colclough, and Vilma is the top player on my draft board, followed by Williams.
But you should give Brown a bit more credit. Calling him a 5th string CB is naive, he\'s been good in nickel situations, he\'s a great special teams player, and in the final game of the year, he started and played, what I would consider, a good game for a guy that is in a reserve roll. Yeah, that one play should have been pass interference, but it wasn\'t.

The waiting drove me mad....

if ya guys head over to saintsreport.com youll see that haz reportedly think brown has a chance at starting this year. where that puts ambrose and craft im not sure, ambrose our dime? brown = what craver should have been. considering i wasnt a big fan of him making the team last year because i felt he was a waste and we should take a chance on lynarius elpeage and let him develop. oh well, good for brown this is good news
