this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; flea flicker watch. The only drawback is that the way our defense is playing, it will see the I-formation with the fullback offset, and think pass all along. LOL...

I think anything is on the table for this game. Like the staged "fight" they did in the Lions game, where they ran out the tunnel and basically instead of going to their sidelines ran straight into the middle of the Lions pregame huddle to start ***** and get up in their grills. A totally ridiculous stunt and cheap/classless way to start a ball game.
The thing about the 4th and 1 -- the Falcons and Smith have been doing this to the Saints for YEARS now. The Hartley hiccup game they won, there were a ton of these 4th downs they went for it. They almost always go for it on 4th and 1 against us, and usually get it. If the Saints stop THAT, which we now know the defense can, all of a sudden those long time-consuming drives by the Falcons become not-so-long, some of those 7's on the scoreboard become 3's, some of those 3's become no points at all, and all of a sudden without those long drives, put a couple punts in there and you are looking at a game that is no longer tied or even close, but the Falcons are trailing behind by 7-10 points. What the Falcons do on 4th down is huge to this game. |

I can see an onside kick if shmitty loses the coin toss. He knows he needs to gain a posestion on us, and he has no original thought.
That would be the only surprise time. I would expect a possession trick play. Funny enough our defense is #1-2 on stopping teams on 3rd down, but 31st in protecting the red zone, lol Defense needs to do a better job on 2nd down , and stop frickin blitzing in the red zone, lol |
