Hey, good news!
I think we overpaid on this one. Fred Thomas has been solid for us but is by no means a stellar corner. He is getting a 4 year 14 million dollar contract which includes a 5 million dollar signing bonus. He\'ll probably get paid aroun 2.5 mil this year and by the last year make 4.5 mil. I like Fred and all but if I really wanted to improve my secondary, I would have spent my money Antoine Winfield. Yeah he would have been alittle more expensive but is a definate upgrade. He is a solid in coverage, 27 years old, and considered one of the leagues best tackling corners (and with Tebucky back there we are going to need some solid tackling). The only real knock on him is that he is small, but hey so is Fred Thomas. I guess I\'m just alittle disappointed that this seems like a stop gap measure and not really a problem solving step. We are also slowly running out of cap space with Howard probably going to take up like 4-6 million of it.

Hey, good news!
While I agree with you that we should pursue Winfield, I think that the Springs contract priced us right out of contention, which is unfortunate. You know Winfield is thinking, \"if Springs got a $10 million signing bonus, I wonder how much I can get\", as I think we can all agree that Winfield >>>> Springs

Hey, good news!
Good signing, but... the guy\'s 32 right? 4 years 14 mill to a guy who is 32? I dunno. Glad to have him back. Go get some real talent Saints.
