this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Can you actually see us picking a Corner in the first round. This could be adressed in freeagency. I think this pick is withouth a shadow of a doubt linebacker position Vilma or D.J Williams anyhow heres the link http://forums.about.com/ab-profootba...y&topfolder=16...

Deangelo hall in first round pick
Last year there was NO doubt that the Saints were going to trade up for a corner. Corner in the first round everyone said. Uh-huh. How\'d that work out. The more people keep saying LB in the first round, the less likely I think it is. Saints diversion tactics. What players are coming out of Georgia?

Deangelo hall in first round pick
I think it worked out pretty good myself. Everybody blew a gasket the year before when we picked Charles Grant too. How\'d that work out? |

You may be right mutusos_galvastane. I gotta tell ya mutusos, I like your name.
Regardless, the Saints have missed the boat on another talented cb. ..The Lions on Friday also agreed to terms with cornerback Fernando Bryant on a six-year, $24 million deal with a $7.25 million bonus. Bryant, a free agent from Jacksonville, will be counted on to start opposite Pro Bowl player Dre\' Bly. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1751669 I\'d prefer that the Saint\'s go for one of those stud lb\'s from Miami and yank Plummer from the doomed 49er\'s though. |

Donatarrius Thomas is a guy who might still be around for our 2nd pick in the 2nd round, and I know that some draft boards have him as a higher rated MLB than Vilma. I\'d love Vilma, but if we get Thomas or Rod Davis in the second and a Corner with one of the first two picks, I\'d be happy.

I am slowing coming to the conclusion that, unless Vilma is available, we should draft a corner in the first round. I am pretty confident that we could land Rod Davis (MLB, Southern Miss) with our first second round pick. This guy is going to be an impact pro. Mark my words. I\'d love to watch him lead the Dome Patrol II for the next decade.
