Looks like the Saints are No.6 in rushing

Teams we'll likely face in the playoffs. From the NFL site:

Saints 6th; 2,127 yards; 132.9/G

49ers 8th; 2,038 yards; 127.4/G

Pack 27th; 1,558 yards; 97.4/G

Lions 29th; 1,523 yards; 95.2/G

Geaux Saints!!

Wow, I hadn't looked at overall stats in a while.

I never would have guessed that we ranked higher than the 49ers, who all the experts claim have a great run game.

UK_WhoDat 01-02-2012 12:07 PM

Awesome stuff. That rushing stat could pay dividends yet.

For when the going gets tough, Ivory get tougher.

Just think if we were a run first team, I like what we have now and it's good to know if all else fails we can pound that rock with success.

dizzle88 01-02-2012 12:24 PM

Ivory has really tore it up, I liked watching Ingram develop from week to week but ivory has been an absolute beast since he got more carries. Keep him trucking, he just finds yardage and decleats anybody in his way, plus he's got good speed aswell

papz 01-02-2012 12:25 PM

But remember when people said we can run block and pound the rock.

*snicker*

Every time I look at our run stats, I can't help but to think about Caddieman and his argument earlier in the season about the Falcons run game being superior... what now?!

I'm surprised at the improvement once we got De La Puente and Strief returned and played a few games together.

Kreutz, Brown and Stinch were simply not very good.

To Caddie's credit, the Falcons were better early in the season, but a lot can change over 16 games.

QBREES9 01-02-2012 12:37 PM

WOW ! we can run the ball. Saints can do in the air and on the ground.

homerj07 01-02-2012 06:34 PM

JUST WIN BABY!!

The Lions just acquired Joique Bell. We just lost Ingram.

The way he plays we could easily lose Ivory.

:-( not all that happy.

13-3 hosting the Lions while the Saints are on fire and you're not happy?
I'd rather be a Saints fan than any other fan for sure.

In this thread, we are talking about rushing. I'm looking at our RB situation.
I'm thinking about last year. Remember?

I saw J. Bell in preseason. Now the Lions have him and they didn't really have a running game prior to the trade. Just expressing some caution regarding depth at RB going into the playoffs.

I am a huge Saints fan and will never be anything but.

95shakinpf 01-03-2012 06:15 AM

Ehh...there is a reason why Bell wasnt a starter on our team. I did see him play during the preseason and yes he was good, but ill take P.Thomas,C. Ivory and D. Sproles any day. SP knows how to shut down Megatron and elite RBs (just look at the last 3 games) as long as the D executes, we wont have a problem advancing to San Fran.

WHO DAT!!
TWO DAT!!

Last year the Saints were playing guys like Julius Jones because all of the good RB's were injured. This year the Saints are in far better position with three healthy and talented RB's. What's your comparison?

halloween 65 01-03-2012 12:42 PM

No trade' plucked off the practice sqad and signed to a contract by the Lions. I hate to see him go and we get nothing for him.

Just want to make double sure we are deep at that position going into the playoffs.

And, giving the Lions any help right now, doesn't feel good to me.

CantonLegend 01-03-2012 09:43 PM

BAM......i thought we couldnt run the ball?

where are all the cry babies now?
