The New Orleans Saints haven't lost in more than two months and boast the best odds to win the Super Bowl among the eight teams playing in the first round of the NFL playoffs.

The Saints enter the postseason ranked 5-1 to take the Super Bowl, backed by an eight-game winning streak, a record-setting quarterback, an unbeaten home record and the experience of an NFL title two years ago. The Lions, New Orleans' first-round opponent, are 25-1. But cheer up, Lions fans — Detroit opened the season with 60-1 Super Bowl odds.

Only the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots, who both have a shorter potential championship path with first-round playoff byes, are given a better chance to win the Super Bowl, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

"We're playing as well as we've played all season long right now," said Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who passed for an NFL-record 5,476 yards this season. "The real season starts now. We have to continue to progress and get better. All of our goals, dreams and aspirations are right there in front of us."

Penalties that normaly get called will likely be overlooked in the playoffs. I don't have any stats but IMO it seems like they let stuff go unlike the RS. This could be a big plus for Detroit, they are #3 in penalties.

Mr. WhoDat656, thanks for the invite if it was you posting on the Lions message board . . . I made it in alright . . . I would just like to point out that the newspaper you're referencing, the Detroit News, really isn't well regarded here in Detroit and is certainly not considered an accurate source of news or information . . . just sayin', don't want any trouble, hehe . . . hey, is that a USS New Jersey broadside you got for an avatar there?

go Lions.
