Hello and WHO DAT?!
I've been a Lions fan since 1983, been through it all, Barry, Barry's abrupt retirement, Matt Millen's lost decade, 0-16, and our climb back to respectability. It's been quite a ride, to say the least. I was one of the Mods over at the Lions official boards when it opened back up at the start of the season. Being a mod seemed cool, until you do it. I'm still there, but asked to have the mod duties removed from my account. I've been on a few Lions boards for hell, probable close to 15 years now. A month ago, I had the extreme pleasure of not only visiting your wonderful city, but had the pleasure of seeing a game at the Superdome, and actually felt welcomed by 99.9% of the Saints fans. Although the score wasn't to my liking, I could not have asked for a better visiting fan experience. I did have my once in a lifetime experience while there also...Lions sideline passes for pregame warmups. Absolutely AMAZING!!! If any of you were at that game, and saw a Lions fan in a Lions home #93 Kyle Vanden Bosch jersey, that was me...I was the only one in a KVB jersey. I was condemned by Breesus Christ at the pregame, and heckled by the devil on my way out. It was all good! What can I tell you about the Lions that you don't already know? I have no idea what you know, so let's start with a few things, and see if that generates questions. The Lions have little to no run offense. I don't care how good or bad your run defense is, because we aren't going to run against you. Because we have little to no run offense, we will run end arounds with our WR's, and screens to our RB's and TE's as our running game. Stafford's confidence is at an all time high going into this game. I don't expect him to pass for 520 yards like last week, but he will get some yards and some TDs. Hopefully enough to make the ending of the game fun. Megatron - non issue last game...can you do that twice? Suh - Contrary to what the TMZSPN media reports, he is NOT out of control. Fairley - Has been injured most of the season, but did get his first sack vs Brees. Avril - Dude has been a stud all season for us. 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles. Special Teams a glaring weakness of this team. I'd rather them just punt it out of bounds than punt to sproles(or anyone else), we can't tackle. What else do you want to know about the Lions? here's some quck hits from another post I made on a few other boards: Last time we faced the saints: Matt was in the middle of glove-gate The NFL couldn't handle the Suh We were without Houston We were without Delmas We were without Fairley in the second half (I think) And we were still close, late in the game. Stafford is ON FIRE since this game,(same as brees) Their running back is on IR (why should we be the only one?) They still have a ton of depth at RB though, and sproles scares me. Jimmy Graham is a beast. We have a shot, just my opinion. Heart Prediction: 31-28, lions win on a last second something or other by someone. Brain Prediction: 35-24, Saints win because they are scary good on offense. |

Welcome. Glad you had an enjoyable visit other than losing the game. It should be a great game Saturday and I have to give the edge to the home team and the 72,000 plus screaming Who Dats that will be making noise Saturday night. If only that call would have gone your way you might be in NY this weekend looking ahead to GB instead of facing a white hot Saints team on a mission. If you or any other Lions fans are making the trip we will try to make you feel at home except that it will be about 70*.
May both teams come out of the game healthy and here's to the Saints going to SF next weekend. WHO-DAT |

As much as I would LOVE to be down there again this weekend, I went over costs last night, and it just isn't gonna happen.
As much fun as we had down there, we may have to make it a yearly tradition. The Lions/Saints don't play each other next year (not in the regular season, anyway), but I'm ready to go back down there for another game/food/booze/fun. |

Huge Barry Sanders fan, even as a child I wanted to run like him. We might be able hold megaton again, Greer is one of the most underrated CB's, and is only 2nd to revis in stats, so you might keep and eye on that matchup.
Im sure Jenkins will be covering on top. One of the things G.Williams preaches is to take out the best players and make a team beat you with the other guys. I noticed you were getting 2 CB's back, but your pass coverage has never been the best even with them in. Do you think they will have a problem playing their 1st game ? Who will you double cover with Colston, Meachum, sproles, graham, and thomas on the field? and who are your linebackers going to cover? Whats a common blitz package you guys employ? Suh, is not used to playing OL's like ours, he will be facing J.Evans who has 30 lbs on him and is just as athletic. When has he had a good game playing a #1-5 offensive line in the NFL? Your OL is #17 I think, have you had injuries ? Glad you had a good time, you seem like a good fan, happy for you. Lions have been threw a lot. |
Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before. |

Yeah, the best to play the position in my opinion, because they had one of the worst OL in the NFL, and everyone knew he was going to run, lol. Smith, Brown, even Payton had way better OL's.
Sanders was unstoppable, could play in any era. I mean you look at the footage and see the constant 8 defensive players in the box. Amazing |
