Here is a very interesting article rating the different refs. I wish we had Clete Blakeman again, he didn't let the Lions get away with ANYTHING.

This is the biggest gripe I have with my Lions, professionalism, maturity and composure, you get grief from the slappies on the Lions' board if you mention it though. I honestly believe we can play with anyone except for the mental part of the game, but that's the most important part of the game . . . it is a "professional" sport after all.
That being said (you didn't think I was gonna' dis my team and not make excuses for the loss, did ya'?), I've never seen a game in which 3 offensive pass interference calls were made either. Tell you the truth, I can't even think of a season where I remember 3 offensive PI calls. Actually, going back to about 1967, I can't recall 3 offensive PI calls, period. The refs didn't beat us though, the lack of composure did. With all the crap that went on in that game, we still only lost by 14. Fix it, and I think we can win this one, really . . . and Pettigrew has actually been hanging on to the ball lately, so we don't want him messing around with the officials in this one. Lastly, and I don't want any trouble here, but my second favorite team has always been the Packers . . . the Saints were up there, but that whole Dempsey incident never really sat well with me . . . my favorite game(s) each season have always been Lions/Pack . . . maybe it's a regional thing, maybe it's because they were both so equally sucked (back in the day), it was always a good game. But lately, I've been thinking about making a change and moving New Orleans up into the second postion, and a lot of it has to do with the way you guys play. The Saints are the Packers w/class, with a certain c'est à la mode, if you will . . . I'd take Brees over Rodgers any day (but not over Stafford). So, just to let you know, you guys are in the running . . . go Lions. |
