Sproles' Record should have an asterisk!
Do you realize that he set the record in the same year as the new kickoff rule that resulted in a record number of touchbacks? Sproles only returned 40 kickoffs this year vs. the 50+ of the past 3 years. He would have SHATTERED the record given 10+ more kickoffs and possibly topped 3,000 total yards!
;) For the record, I borrowed the argument from someone else. |
Yea, write Pete Prisco and let him know about it. Im sure he would love to take that away from us as well. What a douche'

great point, considering they are making the excuse that everyone is putting up huge yards this year. The fact is that Drew had more yards than anyone this year, so why could he do it and others couldn't? Maybe he is the best in the league...

Excellent point.

Beginning to hate the word.....asterisk. Great point.

Pete Prisco can suck a giant asterisk for all I care. Substitute the word for what I really think he should suck.
|
He also had to take twice as many steps as everybody else,

That why the Saints were giving up TDs late in games. To allow Sproles to get a chance at the record don't you know.  |
I think it interesting that the Saints' average starting field position was unchanged from 2010, starting at about the Saints' 28. Sproles' contribution to the return game clearly made the team better, despite the increased number of touchbacks.
However, our defense allowing so many yards created a lot of downed punts inside the 20 and 10, giving the Saints a great deal of stadium to cover. |
