Vilma and Gamble...

I hate to burst anyones ballon but neither player will be there at the 18th pick in the draft. I highly doubt that we are going to move up to take either one while there are players in the same league as them -for the most part... its called value. Giving up other picks to move up for them is not good value. I'd trade our first 3 picks for Manning if we can get Gold and a CB, via FA. We need to value our one pick and 2, 2nd round picks, because if the football gods shine on us this year we won't have a good pick the following year. Heck I like us trading down a couple of spots perhaps picking up a 4th rounder or so... and getting poole or Willimas. These or our legit players of interests.

CB Dunta Robinson South Carolina 5'11" 180 Sr
QB Philip Rivers N.C. State 6'5" 236 Sr.
CB Will Poole USC 6'0" 190 Sr.
LB D.J. Williams Miami (Fla.) 6'2" 245 Sr.
CB DeAngelo Hall Virginia Tech 5'11" 195 Jr.

If we do trade up a couple of spots I like
T Shawn Andrews Arkansas 6'5" 330 Jr. Comes in and starts, contributes day one! Thats better value.

Even though LB and CB are huge needs for us, I\'d be for this if he is, in fact, a player that can come in and start immediately. I was never really high on Turley at LT, but Gandy didn\'t give me much hope either. Of course, I\'m used to Roaf protecting that side, but I think Gandy set a Saints record for non-called holding last year. That will only come to haunt us at the worst possible moment if it continues.

Exactly. I\'d love to see the Saints sign Gold. Then round 1 you go for best available CB. Round 2A, TACKLE. After that, best available (squeeze in a reciver fairly early on too if you can - maybe 2B).

Andrews has a major weight problem and is not even projected to play on the left side. He would be an awful pick for us. Besides, we took Stinchcomb in round 2 last year, he is out future RT.

If we are going to spend a pick on a tackle, look for Tony Pape in round 3.

i think a pick on a tackle in early would be another waste of a pick. im still not too sure how i feel about trading up to get sullivan in last years draft, but thats me. i think gold would be a great addition to step up our D. Im still waiting on info on Bolden, i think he would be a more important grab than gold tho. i jus feel more confident in vilma or williams than i would getting a CB in the first. Vilma or williams would be able to jump in alot sooner than a cb would, regardless of who we pick up. So my opinion for the next 4 months, get Gold, get bolden, then trade down out of # 18 and pick up 2 corners, that we way we are set for a while. then fill wholes with the rest of the draft, prolly a FB. but then again, the way the front office thinks, we\';; prolly package picks and pick up the Big Iowa boy for no reason,

is this all really happening????

:casstet: why make that pick, when we can pick up a decent tackle in the third round (Carlos Joseph)

Carlos Joseph
NFL Position: Offensive Tackle
College: Miami (FL)
Class: Junior
Ht: 6-5 1/2
Wt: 345
40: 5.20

Strengths: Developing prospect...Athletic...Good feet...Shows good balance...Has a good frame...Powerful.

Weaknesses: Not very quick off the ball...Might not be able to handle left tackle in the NFL...Needs to show better concentration.

Notes: Brother of New York Giant and 2003 first rounder William Joseph...Still has some upside and could end up being a steal for someone.

A-frickin\'-men!!!

As my daddy used to tell me, \"potential just means ya ain\'t done nothin yet!\"

If we can\'t get Vilma in the first round with number eighteen, we\'ll be takin a project with number eighteen.

QB Philip Rivers N.C. State 6\'5\" 236 Sr.
