this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think any team who has a average qb would drool at having Brooks come in... I hear out of San Diego from people they would love brooks for the 1st pick in the draft however those aren\'t the ones ...

Let me make this clear... I want brooks in a Saints uniform next year. That is where I stand on the fence. I have several friend in San Deigo... when posed the question would gladly trade for Brooks for the number one pick and take the 18th pick. Would I trade Brooks to San Deigo... NO!!! I don\'t see an upside when we are trying to win NOW! Bringing in Manning would set us back 2-3-4 years even. Might as well sale the farm and all its contents and start all over- building this team for 3-4 years down the road. I say again I am not for sending Brooks packing. However I have known of some others who would support such thing and wouldn\'t be far fetched in some circles.

Good point, one I agree with. The question I keep asking myself is are the Saints dedicated to winning now? Coming into FA I thought they needed to make six or seven moves.
1. Sign or franchise howard 2. Resign Rodgers 3. Resign Thomas 4. Resign Smith 5. Sign an IMPACT MLB 6. Sign an IMPACT CB 7. Add another receiver who could make a difference. They accomplished the first three, none of the rest. The Saints have had a 1,000 yard rusher every year since Smith came to NO, and hadn\'t had one prior to that since Dalton Hilliard. Other than Bentley, Smith was probably the best blocker we had on running or passing downs. That loss will hurt. The fact that they haven\'t signed any new players at either of our two largest areas of need (MLB and CB), makes me wonder if they want to win now or not. I\'m not for this Eli craziness, but the Saints might not be a good team for three years anyway - especially if Haslett remains head coach. |

Well that is your opinion and opinions are like ass-wholes we all have at least one. 7 moves. Hell I figured one and that is getting a D-coach in there, but looks like I\'ll have to deal with that for another year. I like what they are doing so far and I think they are going to make a move or two more before the draft. Are we set at making a run for the super bowl... I think its a matter of the football gods shining on us. They may have signed that WR you spoke of in 7 and that is Crowell. I can\'t believe they let Smith get away either but may address that in a FB in the draft for lesser money. They could use a TE in the place of a FB though. MLB and CB are the glaring needs... I think they will shore them up before the draft to go best available player at that pick, one creating more depth and or upgrading a position. Its a far better plan than if one person gets hurt thats our season. We need a system that we can just plug any player in and still works.

No Gold was suppose to Visit this weekend or last I head... I think it was even posted somewheres. But no work of a FA CB though. Rumours on the net are like a disease, they spread so fast and most have no merit what-so-ever.

There are some new names on the board.......but those of you that were here remember I took an awful flogging complaining that we were not focused on winning , as a team, and were letting some great players slip through. I was told you cant build on free agents only through the draft. If we build a winner other players would be enticved to play for the Saints. At this point there is not incentive to play in N.O. We are doing the same this year.............ignoring needs. Oh I know, wait until cuts, i will wager the same as last year we do nothing. The team wants something for nothing. Also, we do not traditionally keep the draftees long enough to allow them to blossom. This is deja vu. Am I the only one with feelings the same as last year\'s?
