Sometimes at the games, I don't even look at where the orange marker is anymore, sometimes I don't even pay attention to what down it is -- I just know the offense is out there, they're lining up, and the play is going to go THAT DIRECTION and it will all work itself out! The Saints are lethal on third down... it's weird but it's kind of our bread and butter play. I think that's because any 3rd down yardage that isn't ridiculously looooong or short yardage -- any down like 3rd and 8, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 5, 3rd and 15, etc -- those are situations where the entire playbook is open, ANYTHING might get run, and that's where the "too many weapons" thing the Saints do is at its strongest, in terms of attacking the defense. 3rd and 1 makes me a lot more nervous for the Saints than 3rd and 10, actually!

Saints 3rd-and-1 should look just like 3rd-and-8.
I have been saying that since forever it seems.
Spread the field and give Brees options.
Its easier to run out out of the spread formation when there isn't 2 tons of beef in the box.
The next 5 weeks need to be our MOST efficient, starting with tomorrow night.
