David Boston to the Dolphins? (08 theory mongering)

Dolphins | Frontrunners for Boston? - from www.KFFL.com

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports an NFL source has said the Miami Dolphins have become the frontrunner among three teams to land San Diego Chargers WR David Boston. Dolphins WRs coach Jerry Sullivan was Boston's position coach in Arizona in 2001 and 2002, when they were both members of the Arizona Cardinals.
Ok, I understand that Marty had problems with Boston all season. I understand that he might not want to keep Boston around. I understand why Miami would want Boston.

What I don't get is this: how can you deal David Boston and with a straight face suggest that you can take Eli Manning? If Boston gets farmed out, then it seems to me that Larry Fitzgerald or maybe Mike Williams are going to the Chargers. There aren't any free agent WR's out there for the Chargers to pick up and too many top flight WR's that seem bound to go in the 1st round. Even if the Chargers took Eli, they might end up selecting 1st overall next year without anyone to throw the ball to.

So enter the 08 theory--Let the Chargers deal Boston. Then let the Saints ride to the Chargers rescue. We offer them Brooks and Horn or Brooks and Stallworth for their 1st pick. I would prefer Horn partly because he's on the back side of his career and partly because I want to see if Stallworth will ever start 16 games. Then, We get Eli and still have our #18 pick to take a top flight WR, maybe Reggie Williams or Rashaun Woods or even Clayton as a bone to the LSU fan base.

Prior to this we get serious about signing Gold or Dhani Jones or both at OLB and then take Rod Coleman in the 2nd round. Or wait around for Washington to cut Trotter in the June 1 cuts and have the best LB corps that Haz has ever had in New Orleans.

At any rate, people will find themselves introducing us as "The bound for the NFC championship game" New Orleans Saints.
