Both are at the end of their careers. I wouldn\'t want to pay what they want for either.
However Law isn\'t too happy up in NE, I would love to see him (although I don\'t know the price tag) |

Saint FO will never give Law what he wants. FO is Front Office.

Yea, I just saw what NE offered and he laughed at. I would doubt, we would give him that much. At least not now. Maybe in a couple years when he is on the downside of his career, then we will offer him big bucks

News
New England cornerback Ty Law remains disgusted with the way the defending champs are handling contract renegotiations and recently lashed out against the team. \"Right now, it\'s not about money,\" Law told the Boston Globe this week. \"That bridge is burned. I no longer want to be a Patriot. I can\'t even see myself putting on that uniform again, that\'s how bad I feel about playing here.\" http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...ball&type=lgns |

It might not happen but it is more logical than trading for Eli. |

New England was simply offering Law to take a paycut. Law is going to make 16.9 million in the next two years and NE is offering him 15 million. plain and simple he was insulted and ready to leave.
The Patriots\' offer essentially would guarantee Law $15.6 million over the next two years ($6.6 million bonus, salaries of $4 million this year and $5 million next year), according to the Globe. His current contract calls for him to earn $16.9 million over the next two seasons. \"I would be a fool to take less than what I already make,\" Law told the newspaper. \"So you\'re telling me, if I make $17 million over the next two years, if I\'m a Patriot, I\'m going to accept $15.6 million? That\'s a pay cut. I said it a thousand times, I\'m not taking no pay cut. |

Thank you... ami2kind4words... its always just about the money. Money, cap, cap money its all the same. Wanna know how happy I can be with 16.9 million? They promised him a contract and is expected to be a 10 million cap hit this year if he doesn\'t except a lower offer and he refused, he wants the money from the management that promised him and gave him that contract. I personally don\'t blame him in the least bit

Law isn\'t going to get the money he wants.
Players who get on the \"this amount is an insult\" train seem to end up playing for less somewhere else. |

OH yes and that is very true. But you can\'t blame a guy for trying to collect 10 million vice 4-6 million.
