The following is pure "educated speculation" on my part...but I think I, if noboby else, am about to find out just how "great" these 2 guys, Sean and Drew, are. Edit- Oh, yeah...one more thing. Winning another SB would be tremendous, but I'm also speculating that Drew and Sean might say, "Cougar...you're looking good. I want Viper!"

This talk about Sproles brings to mind another question: has there been any confirmation on what the additional picks related to the Reggie Bush trade to MIA are?

I mean Reggie had a career year with the MIA (1,086 yards rushing & 296 yard receiving with 7 TDs combined) and if the picks traded was performance based, I guess it might be good news for the Saints?!

There was a thread in the last couple of months implying there was no extras for Bush exceeding 1000 yards etc.

That's OK, I must have missed it myself.

In any case the Saints at least shed his salary, which enabled them to sign Sproles, and the guy they got directly in the trade made the onside kick catch against the Lions. So all in all a good trade.

Did you hear Rivers after last night's game finally answering a question about letting go of Sproles? Sanders said "Bet you miss Sproles now". Rivers said, affirmatively: "No doubt". Then, said he "pulls" for both Brees and Sproles.

First of all, its SP's wife that lives in Dallas. Its not as if Sean is commuting or something, this actually gives him more time to concentrate on the team.
Secondly LaDainian's Mom nailed it. SD was in a hurry, it cost them.
Lastly, SP and Bree's aren't going anywhere, even if they don't have new contracts. All that was put aside until after the season. I'm sure they will be amply rewarded plus, they know what they have in NO is extremely rare and special. You can't buy it in a bottle.

SP already signed a new multi-year contract and Brees will probably be franchise tagged if they can't reach a consensus on his new deal. Which could be for the best, because Nicks will be probably asking for about 8M/year contract to stay with NO and match Evans' contract.
