Sort of a "if you hire me, you have to hire my son too" type of thing. Payton and the Saints were able to find a way to make it work, but not a lot of teams and owners out there are going to be comfortable and go along with that type of arrangement... My hunch is that, it's not money that is keeping Williams here, it's not looking for a better team or better opportunity to win either....so I kinda don't think Williams leaves the Saints, unless it's for a head coaching position AND a promotion for his son as well -- like Williams as head coach, with his son as defensive coordinator, that is the type of situation I could see him leaving us for. And I don't know whether Fisher would agree to that, and I don't think the son is quite ready for that kind of jump yet. This is just my theory about it, based on reading between the lines in the articles I've read.
I sort of agree with you on this because that is how the Saints hired him with a packaged deal but I wouldn't be surprised to see his son Blake go with Curtis Johnson as an assistant at Tulane. Then if that happens he might go where the most money is offered.

I think it's just Adam Shefter trying to create a story out of nothing. He's probably a San Francisco fan, and trying to throw a monkey wrench in our defensive machine.

"many around (the) league believe" Williams will leave New Orleans to reunite with Fisher.
How many is many?
Who are they?

This is pure speculation, and likely contrived.

We will know soon enough! Something tells me he stays, something tells me he goes. He is a good DC but not great. I do like what he has done here for us and if he leaves I will always respect the body of work he has done, if he stays I will support him for the same reasons. { NOTE: IF HE WANTS RESPECT HERE YOU EARN IT HERE, GREGG}

Got agree with that; just because it's in print or on the internet doesn't make it fact...

Now if you know someone in the organization(s) directly involved and you don't want to divulge their name for fear of reprisal - I get that...

But "many around the league" could mean the nephew of the travel secretary for the Bills, Mary Jones in shipping for Riddell, and Leroy the janitor in Heinz Field/Pittsburgh...

Now if you eat at a diner that the principal frequents and you overhear - state it - that's one way I use to get alot of scoop when I lived in the city for ten years...

Credibility and Reliability - something today's journalist know nothing about...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Regardless, I trust our front office to keep us on the cutting edge. There are some great coaches who would surrender appendages to join the Saints.

If GW did leave I would like to get spags as the new DC, his new York defenses used to get great pressure on the QB.

Havent seen much of del rio's defenses, the jags have been bad for the past few years so I'm not sure what results he'd bring to our D

Nepotism as much as abilty, if not more so in some cases, gets you into NFL management and coaching...
