this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why does the qb point out the mlb pre-snap? The only thing I could think of was that maybe it helps the line adjust the blocking scheme in case of a blitz....

Why does the qb point out the mlb pre-snap? The only thing I could think of was that maybe it helps the line adjust the blocking scheme in case of a blitz.

Most times it has to do with who becomes the O-lines responsibility and who becomes the "hot guy". If the hot guy brings pressure for example its usually the QBs responsibility to handle him by making a hot throw.
