this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; So I'm seeing a lot of sports media picking the 49ers, but then why are most of the sports articles asking if the 49ers can stop the Saints? Or what can they do to slow down the Saints? And how ...

I'm confused about the Saints/49ers
So I'm seeing a lot of sports media picking the 49ers, but then why are most of the sports articles asking if the 49ers can stop the Saints? Or what can they do to slow down the Saints? And how they need to water down the field. And why are the Saints favored by 3-1/2?

We're down South... they have all the media bias out there.
Hey remember when USC could play in the NFL? Being a +3.5 home dog is all that needs to be said... and that number is probably going to rise. |

Yep, every talking head is going to bring up the fact that we haven't won a playoff game on the road never mind the fact that we only played what 3 games on the road in our history. 2 of them in snowy Chicago and the debacle in Seattle where we went in thinking we were going to win just by showing up. I look for us to be very motivated in this one and win by 14.

We are 18-6 over the last three years on the road. That is not the record of a team that is BAD on the road. Are we better at home? Yes, all teams are, but that that does not mean we are bad on the road.

If they do the obvious thing and pick the Saints across the board then who's going to get angry at whom? Maybe they rile up Canton and a few Niners fans, but that's about it. If they do the thing that is controversial then they get us all worked up and people jump on the internet and call such and such and so and so an idiot and people tune in to hear the idiot say the next ignorant thing. The short answer is money. LOL |
