I'm willing to let Sproles receive. I want Drew in the game early get some points on the board and then let the D step up when necessary.

Getting the ball in the second half is good if you're playing Madden.
Get the ball!!! Score first and put the pressure on the 49ers to keep up with our Offense. Putting pressure on Offense causes them to make mistakes and force things. Also, gives us oppitunity to keep off the second half with an onside kick, which hasn't been done in a play off game before, lol. |

Whichever way we choose we need to make it count.
With out history of scoring in the last 2 minutes of the first 1/2 & then the chance to get the ball to start the 2nd... WOuld be good!! |

I bet it will be a wind decision. Didn't Payton do something crazy at San Fran last year, burning a bunch of crazy time outs with like two or three minutes to go in the 1st quarter, because he wanted more plays with the wind blowing a certain way for Drew before they switched sides? I seem to remember some insane thing happening with time outs and wind, and Payton standing there with that crazed look on his face, in that game.

I like the idea of receiving the kickoff on the second half. Gives the Saints the chance to score twice unanswered.

Kickoff first half. If the defense holds, we've got a moral victory AND Drew coming on the field. If the defense yields, then we know the pace of the game and Drew plays like mad from behind. Also, we can make immediate corrections to defense.
Receiving in the second half, if playing from ahead, demoralizes the opposing team. If from behind, then we NEEDED it. Plus, deferring just shows BALLS of steel and a great deal of confidence in our boys on defense. Additionally, we can make sun or wind choices. I'm all for the deferment. Alaska |
