If the Saints D starts to shut down Gore the way they successfully held Brandon Jacobs, Michael Turner twice, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, and Cam Newton this year to well under 100 yards, THEN we start to bring the blitz. Get Smith into an uncomfortable down/distance situation, just to keep a drive going, then make him do it over and over again to get the team down the field, I'm quite good with seeing what his QB rating looks like then.
Realistically I think a lot of the sacks the 49ers suffered against Dallas and Baltimore were not because uh, "players barely knew the playbook in week 2" (if that's the case, then what the heck kind of coach is Harbaugh, anyway?) but I think it's maybe because Dallas and Baltimore are actually...maybe... kind of good teams? You 49ers fans need to get out more, there has been a lot of stuff happening around the league that you guys may have been missing out on. |
