this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I still can't wrap my head around that miss against the Falclowns. I guess now I understand why Scott Fujita referred to him as "our fat punk kicker." Let's not forget, he missed not one, but two key field goals ...

I still can't wrap my head around that miss against the Falclowns. I guess now I understand why Scott Fujita referred to him as "our fat punk kicker." Let's not forget, he missed not one, but two key field goals against the Vikings last season. That could have easily swung the game the other direction.

i love Hartley and I think it would be incredibly stupid not to resign him. he is one of the most promising young kickers in the leauge and he has on heck of a leg.

Also if we are going to keep using the missed ATL kick against Hartley as the reason why we had to go to Seattle last year then we need to use the Brees' int in the Tampa game this year at the end when he had a wide open Meachem in the middle of the endzone as a reason why we are going to frisco instead of them coming to NOLA and I think that is very foolish.

Like biloxi-indian already stated: Hartley has a contract until 2016, which will undoubtedly keep him as the kicker next season.
I don't know how much Kasay is getting for the season, but his Panthers contact would have payed him 2M/season until 2013, while Hartley will "only" be making 650K next season, increasing to 910K in 2015. |
