Drew Brees called Alex Smith a "game manager" Tuesday. No doubt, the New Orleans Saints quarterback's comment will be read as trash talk. The phrase has become a thinly veiled slur, as close to obscenity as a sports figure can get on a conference call.

It has made 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh testy at least once, in defense of his quarterback. He should know better.

Really?

Grasping for anything for that "extra motivation?"

If you can't get motivated by the possibilities of a Super Bowl Ring, and you need this posted on your lockerroom bb to start your engine, you've already lost.

I'm not buying the fact that Drew Brees called Alex Smith a game manager. Unless someone can provide an actual link to an interview he did....

yet another zero content article, and this one with no direct quotes (surprise)

how have I followed pro football for 40 years w/o knowing that 'game manager' was an obscenity?
