oh delrio or something

I am wondering why anyone thinks he will be offered a job somewhere else. He really is a one trick pony. I am as depressed by the thought that he stays with us as I am by the loss itself.

Here's why it was bad coaching; Davis had 180 of the teams 299 receiving yards. He was their ONLY guy making plays in the passing game and on 2nd and 10 with about 40 seconds you blitz and leave Jenkins one on one with Davis with no help. That's on the coaching staff.

This is the playoffs..we need EVERYONE the entire game. Did San Fran's D stop doing what it did all game..NO. We had there offense shut down all day and blew it at the end. Its really not that difficult to understand. 100% for 60 min. Period. Did our Offense fold up and cry when they were getting stopped all day..NO. They played for 60 min. Can you say that for our D? |

Why does everyone keep saying we had 6 turnovers, I thought we had 5? Either way it's still pathetic to turn it over that many times.
|
If someone watches the OLD JACKSONVILLE TAPES thats what our D has come to. I thank Williams for what he has done but as long as he is here this is what we will get. Jacksonville was the same way when it mattered the most they fell short also.
|
I was thinking finally, we're going to score without a fumble right away, and giving away points, but nope...3 yard line, and a helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver (not sure if that applies to Thomas, but they slo-moed it, and it was), caused the penalty and the fumble. No such luck, 7 on fumble, another 7 on interception, and 3 more later.
You can't really fault the defense--if you give up all those turnovers, you're going to have a tough time winning. I'm just surprised we stayed in the game for so long. Thomas was likely going to be our tough runner of the game, and "bam" he's out right away almost. Sorry, I can't fault the D here--this was on the offense. |
Greg Williams had one good year here as DC...Thats it. The other years Brees bailed him out......He will fail wherever he goes because he wont have a HOF QB to save his ass every week. My 2 year old daughter can put on a ****ing Motorola headset and call blitzes all damn day! We need someone that is going to be a real DC...not a non-playcalling idiot!
|
to play williams defense you need perfect play from your secondary. but we give to much cushion and results in bend do not break approach. you will get burned.
But to his defense the saints have not addressed some needs on defense since he got here. |

And it's because we lost by giving the game away - the WORST way to lose. |
I'm not sure what the hell we were doing on the final drive.... we went man to man with an extra rusher, gave a huge cushion to everyone and left Malcolm Jenkins alone on Vernon Davis. It's almost as if our defensive coverage was trying to let the 49ers win.

Guys, my heart is broken. I have followed this team since 1967. I have endured jokes, insults and every thing you can imagine because of being a fan of this team and I have taken it, I have waited until next year for so long it's not even funny. My best friend died without even seeing this poor excuse of a franchise have a winning season. My Grandfather and Grandmother both died without seeing them have a winning season. My father is the only one besides myself that even saw a winning season. I am the only one to have finally seen us win a Super Bowl. I am now beginning to doubt that even with all the talent we have on this team. Talent that I personally believe should win at least 2 more Super Bowls, we will never see that again in the next 40 years.
Three years we have been trying to build a defense and this is what we get? Were those efforts even serious or just window dressing. Why Sharper wasn't signed this year so that Jenkins could digress and disappear and become a nobody on defense. At least when Sharper was here Jenkins played well. It's sickening to see Harper play or act like he's playing. This guy has got to be THE worst S in the league. Our DB's have forgotten how to look for the ball while playing pass defense. You know why we haven't gotten the To's this year? Because we haven't tried to get them. Look at the 49ers and the way they go after the ball and then look at what we do. I have sacrificed way too much to follow and support this kind of garbage that the Saints put out on that field tonight, and I for one am not believing the BS from this team any longer, I'm done until I see some real improvement on the defensive side of the ball and SP get over the disease of not running the ball enough. I truely believe that there isn't a team in the league that should be able to beat the Saints unless we come out and put forth as pathetic and effort as the one they put out tonight. I am ashamed to say that I am a Saints fan today. I am sick and tired of being embarrassed because of these kinds of performances by this team and I am no longer going to spend the money, time or emotional investment in this team that doesn't give a damn about itself or it's city or it's fans buy putting on a performance like that. Congratulations, Frisco, you deserved to win the game. You wanted it more, you showed more passion, fire and determination. It was a well deserved win. You are right, the Saints can't stand on the same field with you. The sports pundits are right too, the Saints can't win on the road, outdoors on the grass and no one can say any different because we just proved that we can't. This defense should be ashamed of the way they have played the last two years, and should take a separate flight home so they don't get any of that LOSER stuff on our offense. I'm going to take a very long time off from the Saints. I don't know if I'll ever come back and be a fan again. This was a disgusting discrace to the fans. |
To use Ray Lewis' words:
"If your offense puts up 28 pts. or more & you lose.......your defense is garbage." |
Even Justin Smith with the 49ers said they needed to hold the Saints to 17 points if not they couldn't win because they don't score many points. Sorry but this lost is on GW.

This was a FAIL of the whole team.
Brees passes were not as accurate as they normally are. He was throwing behind or short of his receivers all night. Chris Ivory was a big fat DUD all night yet they kept going to him. Our safeties DON'T know how to turn around an play the ball. They wait till the recievers catch the ball, then react. It's too late then dammit. Tracy Porter has done nothing for weeks except watch wide recievers catch the ball 10 yards in front of him. Sproles running the ball out of the endzone and getting tacked on the 8 yard line was just plain dumb when you see a wall of red in front of you. When we lost Graham, then Pierre Thomas, it just blew the wind out of tbe whole team, and we never seemed to recover. I'm sure when I can stomach watching this game again, I will see a lot of other problems, but right now I'm so ****ing pissed I can't even think straight. So this was not just a defensive fail, this was not just an offensive fail, this was not just a special teams fail, this was a TOTAL TEAM FAIL. PERIOD. |

I haven't been through as many bad years I am only 38 but I have seen enough. I still love my team and always will. They represent us and my city good or bad. We made it to the divisional round..24 others teams can't say that. I think some of your points are just heat of the moment stuff. I wish we could have run more but lets get real. 49's D is #1 in run defense. We gave the ball to who has been our savior since he got here. Our D needs some serious improvement and it starts with the one calling the plays. So please back off the ledge and come have a beer and weep along with the rest of us. |

Marlboro Man,
My Dad was a Bills fan when I was growing up. Talk about a tough team to like. But if we resign Brees and get a new DC, I think we will win a superbowl or 2. We have the talent, just not the defense. People who have been Saints fans threw the bad time and never gave up that is something. They were fans through think and thin and I think if anything you should be proud of their fandom and continue the tradition for them. I have a feeling Payton, Loomis, and Brees ain't going anywhere anytime soon and there will be more celebration to come. |

GW better hope Fischer had something better to do than watch this game or he may have lost his next job!!
I wouldn't mind if Saints hired Wade Phillips if GW leaves |

The D did lose this game, but Drew threw some picks, Sproles and others holding the ball like a loaf of Bunny Bread (in a divisional playoff against the best D in the league) didn't help, I'm sure. I'm shocked we were even in the game at halftime. |

If for no other reason than money. He'll go. |
He doesn't have a contract as of now so what do you think the Saints will offer him if anything after the 5 minute meltdown?

San Fran averages 23 points and 310 yards per game Versus the Saints - 36 points and 407 yards Our Defense stunk it up. |

Our Defense didnt play good. It seemed good because San Fran's offense is not that good!!! But we showed our ugly true colors on defense in the last minute of the game.....giving up 36 points to San Fran? Not good defense.....almost as bad giving up 41 to Seattle
