2) We cannot create a pass rush with a defensive line and an occasional linebacker. That's because we draft a lot of safeties, linebackers, and even cornerbacks who can be plugged in and out at various positions and can fill multiple roles. And who are not all that great at their primary assignments. Adequate at everything, excellent at nothing. We saw linebackers, defensive linemen, and SAFETIES (Great God) getting beat reapeatedly. If GW could just fill each position with a player who is excellent at that position, I suspect our defense would not collapse in the face of a shrewd offensive coordinator.
