A couple names for late round picks

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; G504, I'm a Virginia Tech Alum as well! Class of 2000, when were you there? I agree, I think Hosley would be a good get for us; especially since, like you say, he'll probably be there late in the draft ...

G504,

I agree, I think Hosley would be a good get for us; especially since, like you say, he'll probably be there late in the draft as The Hokies (sort of rightfully) probably won't get much respect by scouts...

I'd also think Danny Coale might be good for us. He's not a huge name but he is a good, fairly large receiver but is also pretty versatile; he can return kicks and even punt! I could see him being used in special packages and "trick" plays...

Grad school, 2007. I like Coale too, but honestly, he's too small. I'd say take him in the 7th or sign him as a free agent, but I don't think he'll get drafted. I hope so, though. Being robbed of a Sugar Bowl winning touchdown by some dumb azz ref is an awful way to end a career. But he seems like the kind of guy Brees would like.

Yeah, he's small but so are Sproles and Wes Welker. I don't see him as a number 1 receiver by any means but a solid return guy (so we don't have to keep putting Sproles back there) and a role-player...as a back-up and maybe in the slot when needed (especially if we wind up losing one of our current WRs with upcoming cap issues)? And I definitely see him and Brees having a good rapport.

The Sugar Bowl still makes me want to cry a little. I only care about two teams: The Saints and The Hokies. I don't watch basketball, baseball, hockey, any of that stuff. To have both of my teams end their seasons the way they did...it sucks. I can't think of a better word for it.

Welcome to the flippin club. Just change colleges and we are in the same boat.
