After sleeping it off.....

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm still numb and can't believe what I saw yesterday. I don't think I've had such a rollercoaster of emotions with this team from going that high to so low in so little time since Carney missed the xp....

I've replayed the game in my mind so many times it sickens me. We pull out a bloody miracle and we need to stop one drive. Just one. And we fail to cover let alone double cover the one weapon they have had in the game. Uggggg.

Yeah, that one hurt...

Could be that game plays out with us up by multiple scores if we're playing it at home. More than anything that's what I keep going back to.

Regardless, hey, it was a good year. It hurts to fall short with a team that clearly has the ability to win it all. Better than the Failcones though, who are about to undergo a relatively major shakeup.

The thing to hang your hat on is the knowledge that we'll be right there in the mix again next year.

Halo, Boutte, |Mitch| and 1 others like this.

It's good to hear that you slept. I tossed and turned all night long. What makes even worse, this mornings Atlanta local paper just had to rub it in. They rubbed it in with big bold letters on the front page of their sports section.

I wouldn't let that bother me when their offense failed to score a single point.

What makes it hurt the worst is that we beat ourselves. There was nothing that could be done about the first fumble. I thought Thomas was freaking dead or paralyzed the way he dropped after that hit; you can't really blame him for dropping the dang ball.

After that, though, everything that cost us the game we did to ourselves. I don't know how Drew didn't see that crossing defender, or why he wasn't leading the receiver more, on his first pick. The muffed kicks were like getting punched in the face, and don't get me started on the defense. I normally HATE "Prevent" defense, but against Alex Smith, how do you NOT play it? It was like watching Tim Tebow on his win streak: he's terrible, there's NO WAY he should have been able to beat us but when the receiver is so wide open that I could probably make the throw (and I suck) well, what do you expect?

It's just so freakin' depressing...

That should be our 2012 motto. "Remember The Rams"

The Rams cost us a Superbowl more than San Fran did.

We destroy San Fran in the dome.

This was the only silver lining from yesterday. As much as I loathe Brady and Belichick, I am SOOOOO sick of hearing about freaking Tebow.
