Wonders of the NFL draft's 2nd round
I love the second round
By Pat Kirwan NFL.com Senior Analyst (March 18, 2004) -- There's no place like the second round in the NFL draft. Sure there are some players in the first round like Robert Gallery, Eli Manning and Larry Fitzgerald who appear to be can't-miss types. But after the top 10 players, things get cloudy and the second round is a nice place to be. In fact, my information is starting to shape the draft up as a group of 10 players at the top and then about 40 players very closely grouped together, and then another 20 players tightly stacked behind that. As one personnel man described the draft from a month away, "There's a very small pool of first-round players and a large second round." The second round makes a lot of sense for a number of reasons if you can get your team multiple picks. The money is significantly less, the expectations from the media and fans are a lot less, and history says there's a lot to like about Round 2. Wonders of the NFL draft's 2nd round
Oh yeah... I even think the Saints should trade down and try and snag another second round pick

Wonders of the NFL draft's 2nd round
Just like last year, i didn\'t like the move the Saints did with trading two lower first rounds picks for a higher one. I think drafting more players is better than drafting a few hyped up players. You always have busts, even in the top 10, so it\'s better to draft more players and see who pans out. So far I am not sure if sullivan will pan out. They better draft smarter this year. (only exception is drafting manning!)
