About time they started cleaning house on the defensive side of the ball, GW gone, Oden gone. Just need to get rid of Bill Johnson (Dline) Travis Jones (Asst Dline) and Mike Millory (Asst DB) and we are set plus I can't wait to see who Spagnoula brings in to replace these guys because we need any left overs from GW's staff off of this team

Looking forward to seeing the Jaguars' secondary dropping balls that hit them right on the numbers, and leaving 10-15 yard cushions on receivers.
I swear that the dropoff in our defensive backs started with the Tampa Bay game and IN SEATTLE last year, which coincided pretty neatly with Dennis Allen kinda packing his bags and knowing he was on his way out the door... I mean 2010 was not as good as 2009 but to me the real drop off in the secondary happened exactly then, late 2010, right in front of our eyes, and the change was evident in the very first preseason games this year against Oakland and Tennesee, when we started to see those huge cushions on the receivers started showing up. I remember many people here on this forum (myself included) were like WTF is going on. I hate to throw a coaching dude under the bus like that, but Jabari Greer, Roman Harper, Malcolm Jenkins, Tracy Porter -- we have ALL seen every one of these guys make big plays before, with our own two eyes. We know they can do it. We know they have the talent and potential to do it. So why didn't we see more of it, last year? (I know some of ya'll are still mad about Jenkins in the 49ers game, but who can forget his great takeaway play in the Cowboys game or his performance against the Rams last year? It's NOT like the dude is not talented.) |

I remember screaming at the tv during the Packers game when I saw our corners playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage but thought hey its the Packers and they have a WR corp 2nd to the Saints so I get it but after I saw it week after week then I knew the coaching staff had regressed back to the ways of Gary Gibbs, good thing is that both the old DC and DB coach are gone so lets see what the new coaches can do cause the talent is there, they just need to be put in position to make plays

Not that I am upset with him leaving....
But what in the H E double hockey sticks is jacksonville thinking? Didn't they even watch any of our secondary play? I wish there was a "Head Scratcher" icon. |
