Greg Romeus
I think this guy is somewhat getting lost in the crowd when it comes to the our defensive ends. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as our starting RDE sometime in the very near future and we part ways with Will Smith. The guy has a extremely strong work ethic and is just a beast. I think it's sort of baffling that he dropped to the 7th round even with his injury. I honestly believe Spagnuolo will make him into something really special.

I hope you are right. I remember being very impressed when I watched film on him playing in college around the draft.

I think most of us are very aware of him and his potential, but the thing is that we haven't really received any updates on how his rehabbing and training has progressed, so while I'm optimistic about him becoming a true playmaker for next season - I'm also a little bit hesitant due to the uncertain variables involved. |

Junior on one end, Romeus on the other, should be interesting if we get a 2 others beasts for the middle. I think Romeus starts within 4 games, he!! I hope the 1st one, he is going to be good.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Spagnuolo can do with Romeus as well as Galette, Bussey, Jordan, Johnson, Quddus, Amaya and Wilson.
We've got a ton of young talent just waiting to develop. |
I look for Gallette to be very productive under Spags....I think G.Williams wasnt good a developing young talent. You see all of the young guys we have on D, especially the lineman and linbackers are kind of stagnant

Thanks for the link to that article! Still, there was nothing concrete said in it about his health going forward just: "He's doing well (in his rehab). He's one of my training room partners. I see him in there two seats over to the left." Not a lot of tangibles in that... |
Greg Romeus was projected to go in the third round with first round talent but slid all the way to us in the 7th round. He's coming off a bad year with knee and back problems. His weakness is against the run but he has room for improvement. If he can look anything like his film we've got a real winner here.
|
IMO huge red flag since he's coming off of two major injuries, if this guy can come back to his old form then he's a steal but I'm in a wait and see approach when it comes to this guy but man when healthy pair him up with Junior and Tez and talk about a pass rush
|
The best thing about him is that in any case he was a low-risk/high-reward type of a draft all along. He could turn out to be a real steal, as was already pointed out, but if he can't overcome those injuries to become a starter or a back-up - it doesn't really matter since the team didn't investment in him a lot.

Usually takes two years and a good DL coach to recover....
|
I'll take two more just like him.
Hagan! Who are our prospects? |
I'll state it again:
"ROMEUS WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY" |
Go look up Bruce Irvin DE/OLB from West Virginia, little bit I read said he could go in the mid rounds and play DE in a 4-3 and OLB in a 3-4
|
He'll be a good one, and the steal of the draft.
|
2nd rounders:
Vinny Curry DE/OLB - Marshall Lavonte David OLB - Nebraska Danny Trevathan OLB - Kentucky Chase Thomas OLB - Stanford 3rd Rounders: Shayne Skov DE/OLB - Stanford Jonathan Massaquoi DE - Troy Cordarro Law DE/OLB - Southern Miss |
