William's D got solved the same way when he was in Jacksonville. Just like Capers has in Green Bay. This new DC plays Jimmy Johnson D, nothing fancy but highly effective, just like it should be, great push with the front 4 and and ocassional lb. crashing the qb., safe but stout. Don't be to suprised if Shanle stays and thrives in his D.

I'm disappointed Shanle said that. It makes me think there may have been some tension towards the end.
Shanle is a very smart player and will likely make a good NFL coach someday. He probably spoke up about the schemes in meetings and was shot down. Shanle's not nearly as bad as many say but certainly isn't what I'd call a good LB. He's a lot like Fujita... average. |

Shanle needs to GO! He is just not effective. The players on the bench are better than him with a little coaching!

here's a new one: if we had someone better than Shanle, then that player would be on the field.
I do not think Shanle is a stud LB, but yes, he is smart, and what he said IS true. The fact he waited until GW left shows he was a team player and did what he was told, and did not undermine his 'coach' |

The level of mediocrity some of you people are willing to accept is mind boggling. Keep telling yourself that if someone else was better they would have been in there. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Keep in mind the same person putting Shanle on the field was the one to say "Roman Harper is the best player on the defense" That in itself should squash that! In 9 YEARS!!! He has a total of 544 tackles. Avg 60.4 a year (only 389 solo) 8.5 SACKS!!! In 9 EFF'n YEARS!! wait...I got one even better that that..3 INT's!!!! 2 of which came in one year!!! Yeah..he is great. Lets make him a LB coach, just please not here. We want our LB to be better not BELOW AVG!! |
