It's like me saying yeah the saints fan base is a ton of incest produced children! Does it apply? 99% it won't but there is always the exception. I'm a hardcore 49er fan and you guys hate us because we won, but in reality most of us cheered for you when you won your super bowl because of what you went through, because you had been a losing franchise for so long, and because your city and the state really needed it. I personally believe every franchise should have a chance to win a super bowl because it's so special when you're a true fan. So stop hating on our team and fans and how miserable we are, because I'm glad we beat you guys to advance but I'm not glad it made you guys miserable and there is a difference between the two. Stay classy saints because a lot of your fans are classy but just like our fan base some of your fans are NOT! |

tell us about "classy," DD: (http://blog.sfgate.com/opinionshop/2...iganism/?tsp=1) Be sure and read "oldmontana"s comments.
Fact is, you can come to the Superdome, and have a good time. Week after week, opposing fans told me the same thing. "Damn, your team beat us, but we sure had a good time in New Orleans." We're posting a bunch of smack talk on the internet... but its talk. If you come to our "house," we will feed you, give you drink, show you a good time, send you home with an L, and invite you back. |

I've got no love lost for the 49ers. They are the WORST of the NFL WORST to me.
Your team I will continue to hate. Your fans I will continue to question the sanity of (assuming you're not a Bay area resident/native). Facts is, Halo flies a Saints flag here at his house. He's kind enough to let like-minded folk (and polite ones from other teams) to visit. Don't come here expecting us to eat that excrement sandwich of a loss to a hated rival (at least for long timers like me who have seen way too many losses to the 49ers in 35+ years of games) with a smile on our faces. You want sympathy for your loss to the Giants, go back to your own house. You will find nothing but laughter and ridicule here. That loss could not have happened in a more fitting way - other than maybe Davis dropping the game winning TD because of a power failure at Candlewatt as the ball left Smith's JV arm. |
DD, if you actually showed up in person to New Orleans, I'd still
talk sh** about the 49ers, but then every one of us would show you the best places to go, and we'd hook you up with a good time, and we'd be nice to your family. Bear in mind, I talk sh** about the Cowboys and Steelers to my cousins who root for them, so... |

The Niners D is the real deal. Alex Smith is not. They won't repeat next year with him at QB.
|
I STILL think the Niners D is going to look a lot less impressive when they have to play a #2 seed schedule, and when more teams have a chance to look at film and study what it is they're doing and how to scheme for it. I mean NO ONE has really explained to me, how the Saints were able to put 32 points up on this supposedly impenetrable D, when everybody else all year was scoring 17, 24, 14 points or less against them. 32 points! And then you could see the following week, the Giants basically replicated exactly what the Saints had been doing offensively, the types of plays they ran and where they were attacking and in particular how Eli was moving around in the pocket to avoid the rush, etc. They are a very good defense, but during the regular season the 49ers played the entire bottom 10 offenses in the whole league, some of them more than once. Give the rest of the league time to figure them out, put them up against some good teams for a change, and then I say that outside of their own weak division, they will not be so scary anymore.

I agree with Saints Bro.
Jumping in on this thread , don't where to make this comment about the really classy 49's fans, LOL!!! I heard on the NFL Net, yes, 49's fans were threatening 49's player Kyle for his fumbles. That is seriously scary and totally sick. No class. |

Yep, that must be an attractive piece of incentive for potential future signings... I wonder how many FAs they're going to be able to lure in with that sort of stuff going on?! |
Yeah, this league makes adjustments way too fast for any team to be able to stay out in front in anything for too long. Guess that's why they're the 'Pros'. The 49'ers gave the league the template on how to slow the Lions down, the Saints showed the league how to beat SFran's defense, and the Giants gave everybody hope that GB can be beaten at home in January, much like GB came up with the method of beating Chicago at Soldier Field late in the season.
I think the observation that next season and outside of their division, they won't be that scary is pretty accurate. I gotta' wonder to how long the 'rah-rah' college-style motivation Harbaugh used his first season is going to last with professional athletes. |
