Saints announce new broadcast team
By JAMES JONES
THE SUN HERALD WUPL-TV, the new home of New Orleans Saints preseason football beginning this season, announced a star-studded preseason TV broadcast team on Tuesday. Tim Brando will serve as play-by-play, with Ron Jaworski and former Saints quarterback Archie Manning doing color commentary. Brando is a Shreveport resident who broadcasts football and basketball games for CBS. Jaworski, who took the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl in 1980, works for ESPN. The 1980 NFL Player of the Year is a regular contributor for ESPN programming. Manning, a Drew native, spent most of his NFL career with the Saints and was a Heisman finalist at Ole Miss in 1970. A two-time Pro Bowl performer with the Saints, Manning has lived in New Orleans since his playing career ended in 1985, and serves in public relations and consulting capacities for several local, regional and national companies. http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunhera...ts/8257824.htm |
