After seeing all the hate on multiple forums on this guy, I am wondering if he is getting a bad wrap. Obviously the coaching staff is high on this guy or he would not be here. I have read multiple articles where even players of other teams give him props. He has even been recognized by some members of the media as a talent. Where does all this hate come from? Obviously some of you see something in him that warrants him being blamed, but I am wondering if he has been forced to compensate for other players inadiquities which makes him a good scapegoat.

In his prime he was decent. His age however is starting to show. Like st thomas stated, he has been not only out of place on plays, but clearly getting beat. The one pick he had he was beat on the play pretty bad but the ball magically dropped in his hands after he got there. I give him credit though, he was a walk on in college so a lot of who he is has been all heart, desire...whatever you want to call it. Just don't call it physical attributes.

I don't hate him either. I just want a LB core that wants to kill the offense....actually...I want an entire defensive front 7 that want to kill the offense.

We're fans, we don't know what goes on. If the coaches like him they know more then we do. We're fans, so we get to say what ever we want. Coach Payton and his staff know a hell'va lot more then we do. Other wise we would be coaching.
Shanle. He must be doing what they ask of him. |

He's solid. Starts every game, never misses a game due to injury, plays run well, tackles well. The knock on him is his speed and cover skills, although if you watch film on him, he blitzes well and actually has good closing speed on a qb. thats not Mike Vick like. His initial turn in coverage or first step is his trouble. If he was in a 3/4 D I personally think that would fit him perfect, still not bad in a 4/3 set. I also think he was ask to do to much in G. Williams system and he was not the only one.
