this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I have one problem with the dropkick but need to preface it with my acknowledgement that I know it is absolutely ridiculous. As an atheist, it confuses even me as to why I am so superstitious about football. Okay, here ...

I have one problem with the dropkick but need to preface it with my acknowledgement that I know it is absolutely ridiculous. As an atheist, it confuses even me as to why I am so superstitious about football. Okay, here we go:
Our season ended with the offense dominating one of the best defenses in the league (TWO game winning drives at the end of the SF Game) and the defense letting us down. We purged the Defense Demon by starting over with Spags. In the Pro-Bowl, we had the chance to go into the Off-Season with the last Saints image of the season being the one attached here, setting us up with all sorts of positive energy for 2012. Instead, we are going in to the off-season having to have that missed drop kick being the image that will replay over and over. It just seems like bad juju to me. Again: I know this is ridiculous. |

They need to drop-kick the Pro Bowl.
My idea, stated before, has been to play the Pro Bowl on the latest version of Madden and show it on TV. Let the two best pro Madden players duke it out. EA could create some special cutscenes or do some things to jazz it up a bit. It would be a big plug for Madden and ESPN and fun to watch. |

I saw the highlight of the drop kick. Sorry, I was embarrassed that the game was being taken so lightly. I didn't like it.

As someone who loves and will testify about what a difference Jesus
will make in your life, I must say, I dont really care about the Pro Bowl, and I think its a really bad idea to play a meaningless game with 100 zillion dollars invested in players.... Every year, I pray Drew Brees wont make the Pro Bowl. So, if they dont take it seriously, GOOD! By all means, play it like a half-speed run-thru, because I do not want my franchise destroyed in a meaningless game. And no, I'm not a hypocrite. Yes, I love preseason football, but most of the preseason is played by backups and prospects. I like preseason for the same reason other people like American Idol. Think Pierre Thomas realizing the American Dream. --also I like preseason, because its the precursor to football, and I like anticipation. The drop-kick was Globetrotter-esque. Im glad he did it, if for no other reason than the NFL considering an end to the nonsense that is the Pro Bowl. They should just have all the All-Pros presented on stage like they used to do in college. Have em walk up and shake hands with Bob Hope. Thats all. |

I was gonna start a thread with this, but decided to not make such an ass out of myself, so, I will put it in this thread where it belongs, so, the following is copy and pasted.
It is 6:20 A.M., and the 1st flight out of Gulfport just took off for Houston. As the jets roar in the background...I realize it is 4:20 A.M. in L.A. I am well prepared, so, without further adieu... As most know, I just have never been able to strap-on the Drew Brees rah-rah crap. I love that he plays for the team because of the production, and I have never criticized the talent...it is exceptional...I just am the type of person who has certain people rub me the wrong way and it is something I can't explain. With that in mind, I was reading this morning about the SB and I came across this article regarding Eli. I am not gonna post the article, but I did copy and paste a quote from Ernie Accorsi, the guy that was responsible for making the trade that sent Eli to NY. Here it is... "I want my quarterback to be cool, I don't want him jumping around," Accorsi said. "I came in with [Johnny] Unitas, and if you go back and watch the sudden-death touchdown (from the 1958 NFL Championship Game), you'll see he turned and just walked off the field." I know I am treading on very thin ice here, but I just felt compelled to let everyone know how I felt and relieved to find that I am not the only person on the planet who feels this way. I think it is very telling that Drew never misses an opportunity to be on a talk-show or award show...and the need to show everybody that he can drop-kick, too! It's just too much for my taste. I will now retreat for cover. |
Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!
