Saints: Who could stay and who could go - Offensive Line
Saints: Who could stay and who could go - Offensive Line | wwltv.com New Orleans
Offensive Line Tackles: Jermon Bushrod, Zach Strief, Pat McQuistan, Charles Brown Guards: Carl Nicks, Jahri Evans, Eric Olsen Centers: Brian de la Puente, Matt Tennant Bushrod: For the first time in his career, Jermon Bushrod earned a Pro Bowl berth. The key for him is following it up with another standout season. He signed a two-year contract prior to 2011 and will be in a contract year. Bushrod shut down tons of talent this past season and, if we were the Saints, we’d figure out a way to extend him now because his negotiations could get messy. Bushrod returns in 2012. |

Not that big on giving Bushrod a big contract. Elite DE's treated him like a $2 hooker for the last 3 years. Most of Brees' hurries came from his side. And.....sorry to say this, but Bushrod rode the "Brees" to the Pro Bowl much like a previous LT we once had. Just saying.....I'd much rather put that money in tha hands of Carl Nicks, Brian De La Puente, & Zach Strief.

We could do worse than Bushrod, and we'd have to pay a ton of money to do better. I'd say he's a B-minus LT in this league. |

While I agree that Bushrod did a good job this past season - much better than I expected him to do - he would be exposed if the Saints were to lose Nicks, because having that type of a guard playing next to you will make any tackle appear better than what the reality is.
