Well the point of the article was that Brees could help the Bengals by dragging out the contract negotiations, which could a) force the Saints to put the tag on Brees and/or b) demand as big of a contract as possible which would leave the Saints with as little cap room as possible.
Both of the points would make it harder for the Saints to re-sign both Colston and Nicks - both of whom could be targeted by the Bengals, since both are positions of need for them. So, it was not about Brees becoming the QB of the Bengals. |

It makes an interesting point, to poach both, I can't see. Tag Nicks and see if they bite, I'd hate to lose anyone on the O but if we could get 2-#1's I don't think Loomis is stupid either.

Brees would help any team that has him, he is overall the best QB in the league(except to the voters obviously).
