Expect more FAs to visit the Saints
New Orleans Saints fans should expect to see some more visits from free agent players, especially on defense, within the next month. The NFL Combine is next week which could raise or lower the boom on how many the team look at.
Followers of Who Dat Nation pounced on the news yesterday when it was announced that the Saints had brought in former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu for a visit. Speculation began about why he was brought in and what it meant. Was he here to replace current midde linebacker Jonathan Vilma? Would all the Scott Shanle haters finally get their wish and see him replaced? Etc., etc… Expect to see more free agent visits to the New Orleans Saints |

" Steve Spagnuolo actually tried to lure Shanle away last year when he was head coach of the St. Louis Rams."

Shanle may not be a play-maker and is on the down-slope of his career, but it could have always been worse.

But it is also up to the coaches to take the players you have and put them in a position where they can succeed. I kinda felt GW didn't always do this, leaving Shanle and Harper alone in coverage a lot for example.
