Why the Saints could keep or let UFA McBride go
by Larry Holder
DE Turk McBride was one of the more disappointing free-agent acquisitions leading up to the 2011 season. The Saints had high hopes after he had a solid 2010 season in Detroit, but McBride only had two sacks in 2011. McBride was a healthy inactive by the end of the season, so the Saints could easily move on without him. Or New Orleans can use any sort of pass rush it can find and DE Turk McBride, when healthy, could help. McBride went through a rash of injuries in 2011 and wasn’t a major factor last season. The Saints could probably keep McBride on the cheap and see what he can do in Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. |
