Blah. Another pro bowl like game. Good for the rookies though. They should rename it the rookie bowl.

Good for rookies is the point. We'll have an extra game to evaluate/develop the draft picks and UDFA's and get the defense accustomed to the new coaching staff.

This is a good thing. No one says Drew and the vets have to play any more snaps than they would in a 4 game pre-season.

Obviously the offense doesn't need the extra game, but it can only help the defense which hopefully will have quite a few new faces.

IIRC you're also allowed more players than normal on your roster (not 100% sure on that tho).

Isn't the roster limit at 80 during the preseason; until the first cut after the 3rd preseason game

I thought I remembered previous HOF participants were granted some extra spots, but I may be thinking of some other reason.
