The comments below that article crack me up...

Even if Brees signs before FA

I dont think its a slam dunk they franchise Nicks. They have a lot of holes and a lot of FA. They already have a ton of money in Evans and after Brees signs they may not even be flexible enough to franchise Nicks.

Any team that needs an O/L would be interested in Nicks ... I wouldn't mind seeing him suiting up for the Lions, only they've already stated they're not going to be too active in the F/A market ... still thinking Saints use the franchise tag on him if they can't broker a deal.
