Brees does a really good job of spreading the ball around but I would like to see him try and get the ball to Meachem more often I think he has a special relationship with Colston and he locks in with him more often. That being said I think Meachem is quicker and more elusive than Colston. Thats not saying anything bad about Colston he is special. Just my opinion from my observations.

If you ask me, there are number of speedsters around who can run those type of routes and create separation to the DBs, but the guys that run the intermediate routes like ins/outs/hooks/slants as well as Colston and commit their bodies in making those tough catches time after time - those guys are more rare and, therefore, very valuable. But, I'm not saying that Meachem isn't a good receiver - only that he is more easily replaced than Colston. |
